Another Saturday upset! Cyclones knock off No. 17 Oklahoma

AMES — Perhaps the nation’s top player – Oklahoma’s Trae Young – was held to seven points below his season average on Saturday as the Cyclones knocked off No. 17 Oklahoma by an 88-80 final.

On both sides of the ball, Iowa State’s freshman guard, Lindell Wigginton, outperformed Young, who will likely be a top 5 pick in next summer’s NBA Draft.

Wigginton led all scorers with 26 to go with his five assists and five rebounds. Iowa State’s other standout rookie, Cameron Lard recorded his seventh double-double of the season with 19 points and 17 rebounds.

In 40 minutes of action, senior Donovan Jackson was fantastic scoring 19 points on 7-11 shooting.

Up next for the Cyclones is a home game against Kansas on Tuesday night at 6.

Check out Cyclone Fanatic later tonight for complete coverage of today’s game.
