Iowa State has suspended defensive lineman Kamilo Tongamoa following his arrest over the weekend for operating while intoxicated, according to a report by the Des Moines Register’s Tommy Birch.
In addition to OWI-first offense, Tongamoa was charged with striking an unattended vehicle, failure to have a valid license and for not having insurance. His suspension is due to being in violation of the Student-Athlete Code of Conduct.
Tongamoa appeared in four games for Iowa State last season, recording one tackle. The 6-foot-5, 295-pound defensive tackle entered the season with high expectations after arriving in Ames from Merced Community College in California, but played sparingly after arriving in August.
