Last season, former Iowa State head coach Paul Rhoads worked as the defensive coordinator for Bret Bielema’s staff at Arkansas. After going 4-8 (1-7) last season, Bielema and his staff was fired following a disappointing season.
On Sunday morning, Sports Illustrated’s Bruce Feldman reported that Rhoads has found a new landing spot on the west coast. Rhoads, who led Iowa State’s program from 2009-2015, has been hired as the secondary coach at UCLA under former Oregon/Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly.
Kelly was one of college football’s most sought after names during what has been a crazy offseason. This is a great landing spot for Rhoads, who walks into a solid program with plenty of job security.
