The press has taken notice of Iowa State football.

Following Saturday’s 14-7 upset of No. 4 TCU, the Cyclones (6-2, 4-1) have jumped to No. 14 in the new AP Top 25. Iowa State entered the poll for the first time since 2005 last week at No. 25.

It is notable that the two top five teams Iowa State has beaten this year, Oklahoma and TCU, are ranked 8th and 10th respectively. Oklahoma State, who Iowa State will host in two weeks, is ranked 11th in this week’s poll.

Iowa State will travel to West Virginia (5-3, 3-2) next Saturday for a 2:30 p.m. kick on ESPN2.
