Iowa State has landed a commitment from three-star California defensive back Dallas Taylor-Cortez, according to multiple reports. The news was first reported by CycloneAlert‘s Alex Halsted.
The 6-foot-3, 173-pound cornerback is rated as the No. 92 cornerback in the class and No. 106 prospect in California by 247Composite. He’s the No. 780 player in the class overall, according to 247.
Taylor-Cortez, who took an official visit to Iowa State for the season-opening win over Northern Iowa, chose the Cyclones over offers from Utah, Arizona, BYU, Washington State, Oregon State and a few other FBS programs.
He is the 16th commit in Iowa State’s 2018 recruiting class and third true cornerback, joining three-stars Jaeveyon Morton and Anthony Johnson Jr. Taylor-Cortez is the highest-rated of that trio.
