Three-star Texas wide receiver Sterling Galban has decommitted from Iowa State. The 5-foot-10 pass catcher, who projects as an inside receiver at the next level, announced his decision on his Twitter account on Wednesday.
Galban made his pledge to the Cyclones on April 24. Since then, he’s picked up scholarship offers from three other Power 5 programs, Texas Tech, TCU and Illinois.
The Burnet, Texas native took an unofficial visit to Iowa State the weekend of June 16 and had been an active voice recruiting other prospects into the Cyclones’ 2018 class. Galban plans to graduate early and enroll for the spring semester at his next school.
Iowa State received a pledge from Allen, Texas wide receiver Carson Schleker, who also projects to play on the inside in college, early last week.
The Cyclones currently have 11 commits in the 2018 class that rates as the No. 8 class in the Big 12. It is the No. 55 class overall.
