Monte Morris was in the starting lineup for the Denver Nuggets Las Vegas Summer League roster on Friday night. The Nuggets lost to the Houston Rockets by a 102-99 final and for the most part, Morris was ok in his NBA debut.
Iowa State’s all-time leader in assists, steals and a bunch of other fun stuff ended his debut with seven points and three assists in 23 minutes of action. Morris, who went 3-of-9 from the field, turned the ball over three times as the team’s starting point guard. Morris was 0-for-1 from 3-point range.
Morris and the Nuggets will play again on Sunday vs. Deonte Burton and the Minnesota Timberwolves (5:30 on ESPN2).
Matt Thomas made his debut as well. He only played four minutes though. Still, “Matty Ice” went 1-for-1 from the field, scored two points and had a rebound during that time.
The Lakers will play again on Saturday vs. the Celtics and former Cyclone Abdel Nader (7:30 on ESPN).
