Sad news to report on your Sunday.
According to the @CycloneFB Twitter feed, longtime Iowa State assistant coach Bob Elliott has passed away. Elliott, age 64, coached at Iowa State during three eras under Donnie Duncan, Dan McCarney and also Paul Rhoads.
Elliott, who was most recently at Nebraska, had fought cancer for the better part of the last two decades, all while doing what he loved.
For a very nice recap of Elliott’s life and career as a coach, take a look at this link courtesy of our friends at the Des Moines Register.
On behalf of the Cyclone Nation, rest in peace, coach.
