AMES, Iowa – Iowa State University announced today that the Attorney General’s Office has notified the University that it has reached an agreement to settle the case brought by former women’s basketball player Nikki Moody against the University. Head Coach Bill Fennelly was previously dismissed from the lawsuit in April of 2017.
The settlement of $60,000 allows both the University and Moody to avoid the costs associated with expert witnesses, depositions and conducting a trial. Per the agreement (Sect. 9), there is no admission of liability by any of the defendants.
The trial was originally scheduled for September of 2017.
