The dominos continue to fall following Iowa State’s biggest recruiting weekend of the summer thus far. Texas safety Christian Young became the second weekend visitor to announce his commitment to the Cyclones when he tweeted his pledge on Sunday.
The 6-foot-1, 201-pound Richmond, Texas native is rated as the No. 49 safety in the country and No. 642 player in the 2018 class, per 247Composite. He chose the Cyclones over offers from Arizona, Arizona State and close to 20 other FBS programs.
Young’s commitment comes just a few hours after Georgia linebacker Gerry Vaughn announced his pledge to Matt Campbell‘s program. It is also right on the heels of Mississippi wide receiver C.J. Bolar announcing is decommitment from the class.
Iowa State is now back at 11 commitments in the program’s 2018 class. Young is the Cyclones’ highest rated commit and moves the class back inside the top-40 nationally.
