Princeton graduate transfer Hans Brase has committed to Iowa State, multiple sources confirmed to Cyclone Fanatic on Friday. The 6-foot-9 forward will be immediately eligible for the 2017-18 season.
He visited Ames earlier this week.
Brase missed all of the 2015-16 season after suffering a torn ACL. He averaged 11.5 points and 7.5 rebounds during the 2014-15 season for the Tigers. He shot 42 percent from the floor and 35 percent from 3-point range.
He played in five games in 2016-17 before suffering a season-ending knee injury on November 29. He averaged 6.4 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists before his injury.
Iowa State now has one scholarship open for the 2017-18 season. Brase joins Texas-San Antonio forward Jeff Beverly as a graduate transfer eligible immediately for the 2017-18 season. Virginia transfer Marial Shayok will sit out next season before playing in 2018-19.
Stay tuned to Cyclone Fanatic for more on hoops recruiting over the weekend.
