Iowa State will be hosting a pair of men’s basketball prospects this weekend, according to multiple reports that we have confirmed at Cyclone Fanatic. Northwest Florida State College guard Daryl Edwards and Virginia transfer forward Marial Shayok will both be making their way to campus.

Edwards averaged 13.6 points, 3.9 assists and 3.1 rebounds per game during his sophomore season at Northwest Florida. The 6-foot-4-inch Fresno, Calif. native shot 46.6 percent from behind the 3-point line and 48.9 percent from the floor.

He scored 20 points and dished four assists in the Raiders’ loss to Hutchinson in the NJCAA Final Four. He did not play in the team’s loss to South Plains College in the national tournament’s third-place game.

Shayok averaged 8.9 points and 2.4 rebounds in 20.6 minutes per game this past season for Tony Bennett’s squad. The 6-foot-5-inch Ottawa native shot 44.5 percent from the floor and 32.8 percent from 3-point range.

He played 22 minutes and scored five points in the Cavaliers’ win over Iowa State in the 2016 Sweet Sixteen. He will sit out one season before playing one season at his next school.

Stay tuned to Cyclone Fanatic for more on basketball recruiting in the coming days.
