AMES, Iowa – Iowa State’s Nazareth Mitrou-Long has been selected to the 3-point Championship roster for the 29th annual State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships at Grand Canyon University Arena in Phoenix on Thursday, March 30, Intersport announced today. Mitrou-Long is one of eight men’s college basketball players selected for the event that will air live on ESPN at 9 p.m. CT. He was invited to take part in the 3-Point Championship after being recognized as one of the nation’s finest shooters from three-point territory.

Mitrou-Long finished his career as a Cyclone as one of the top 3-point shooters in school history. The Mississauga, Ontario native hit 260 career 3-pointers at a 38.0 percent clip, including 98 makes this season. The 98 threes made this season led all Big 12 players and his 260 made 3-pointers were the second-most ever by a Cyclone (Jake Sullivan).

The last Cyclone to participate in the 3-point contest was Tyrus McGee in 2013. Dedric Willoughby (1997) and Fred Hoiberg (1995) have also represented ISU in the event, which is in its 29th year.

Chris Williams
