Here’s a nice honor for a former Cyclone.
The Iowa Energy of the NBA’s D-League will be retiring Curtis Stinson’s jersey on Saturday night at halftime of a game vs. Norther Arizona.
Following his three years at Iowa State, Stinson played six seasons with the Energy while leading the franchise to four division titles along with D-League championship in 2011.
“It is truly an honor to have my jersey retired by the Iowa Energy organization,” Stinson said in a release. “I will never forget the amazing games, our great fans and of course the championship we brought to Des Moines in 2011.”
Stinson, a Bronx, New York native, averaged 17.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 2.1 steals per game during his career at Iowa State. Stinson was a two-time All-Big 12 Second Team member and was named Iowa State’s team MVP all three years in the program.
