A highly-rated junior college defensive end will be on Iowa State’s list of official visitors this weekend. Long Beach City College prospect J.J. Allen tweeted on Thursday that he’ll be making his way to Ames.
Allen is the No. 22 JUCO prospect in the country, per 247 Composite. He’s rated as the No. 3 junior college strong-side defensive end.
The 6-foot-4, 260-pound three-star signed with Arizona after last season, but failed to qualify and returned to junior college. He visited Marshall last weekend.
ISU defensive line coach Eli Rasheed was in California to visit Allen on Monday.
Allen, who also holds offers from Kansas, Arizona State, Louisville and a host of others, was a high school teammate of Iowa State junior college defensive tackle commit Ray Lima at Torrence West in California. He recorded 30 tackles, 12 of them for loss, and 2.5 sacks this season for LBCC.
Other known visitors this weekend include cornerback commit Richard Bowens and Florida offensive lineman Connor Robbins.
Stay tuned to Cyclone Fanatic throughout the weekend for news on their visits.
