RECRUITING: ISU target Tarique Milton making guys look foolish during senior season

Bradenton, Fla., wide receiver Tarique Milton is far from the highest-rated recruit on Iowa State’s board, but you wouldn’t know it from his highlight tape.

The 5-foot-10-inch, 155-pound speedster, who visited Ames for Iowa State’s win over San Jose State, has been making opposing players look foolish during his senior season for Manatee High School. Take a look.

Milton, rated as a two-star prospect by 247 Composite, has accumulated nine touchdowns in just five games to start his last season at the high school level.

According to Max Preps, Milton has caught 26 passes for 395 yards and six touchdowns. If that wasn’t enough, he’s added 19 carries for 177 yards and three touchdowns rushing. Plus, he’s been electric has a punt and kick returner (which you can see in the highlight tape).

Milton emerged as one of the best playmakers in the Sunshine State last year during his junior season when he caught 50 passes for 855 yards and eight touchdowns, but he’s taken that to a new level in 2016.

He’s in the top 50 in the state in almost every receiving category. Keep in mind this is Florida, one of the biggest high school football hotbeds in the country, and there’s still more than half his season left to play.

Safe to say, he hasn’t performed like a two-star prospect. Oh, and by the way, the Cyclones are his leader in the Crystal Ball right now with 100 percent of the predictions.
