Iowa State’s 2017 recruiting class is coming into shape and that has allowed the staff to set its eyes on the future.
On Wednesday, it was assistant coach Daniyal Robinson who was able to hit the road. Robinson was in Missouri where he visited and extended an offer to five-star 2019 forward Marcedus Leech, a source confirmed to Cyclone Fanatic late Wednesday night.
The 6-foot-5-inch, Poplar Bluff, Mo., native is rated as the No. 20 prospect in the 2019 class by 247 Composite. He is the No. 9 small forward and the top player in the state of Missouri.
His left-handed shooting stroke, deadly range from behind the arc, quick handles and ability to finish at the rim have led to comparisons between Leech and Houston Rockets star James Harden.
Leech, who played for the St. Louis Eagles during the summer, holds offers from seven other schools right now including: Kansas, Miami (FL), Washington, Missouri, Wichita State, Vanderbilt and New Mexico State. His 247 profile also lists interest, but no scholarship offer, from Iowa.
