Iowa State ranked among the nation’s leaders in attendance for the seventh year in a row during the 2015-16 season. Hilton Coliseum had the 16th highest average attendance among Division I men’s basketball programs.
The Cyclones averaged 14,270 fans per game, filling the arena at 99.21 percent capacit throughout the season.
They finished the year with a 14-2 home record, and they’re 76-7 at home in the last five seasons.
It comes as no surprise that Kentucky was the nation’s leader in attendance again with 23,362 fans per game. Syracuse, Louisville, North Carolina and Maryland rounded out the top-five, all with average attendances of more than 17,500.
Kansas, No. 9, was the only other Big 12 team inside the top-20 with 16,436 fans per game. Iowa was 19th with 13,385 fans per game.
