AMES — According to this report from Randy Peterson of the Des Moines Register, Iowa State’s star junior wide receiver Allen Lazard broke his hand last week during spring practice.

“He was ticked, which is good. I loved the feistiness, but there comes a point when you have to be smart, too. You’re not going to catch every ball," head coach Matt Campbell told the Register

Campbell said that Lazard struck a wall, which resulted in a hairline fracture, after dropping a Joel Lanning pass.

While Campbell said that Lazard could have participated in Saturday’s scrimmage, he will indeed be out for next week’s spring game.
