ISU DC Jon Heacock to be Matt Campbell’s top paid assistant

Matt Campbell‘s first ISU football staff is now fully in place after recent additions of Jon Heacock (defensive coordinator) and Jim Hofher (passing game coordinator).

Heacock, documents provided by ISU per open records requests reveal, will be Campbell’s highest paid assistant. He’s slated to make $454,000 in annual base salary in the 2016 season.

Hofher’s base salary is set at $235,000 and longtime Campbell friend/colleague and assistant head coach/running game coordinator Lou Ayeni — a holdover from Paul Rhoads’ staff — will see his base salary bumped up to $300,000.

In addition, some other assistant coach’s (e.g. offensive coordinator Tom Manning) contracts have been amended. Manning was initially to make $250,000 (plus incentives) in his first season as coordinator. His base number is now $300,000.

Peruse the recently-released contracts (and amendments) below.
