Offensive lineman Daniel Burton will not return to the Iowa State football program for his senior season.
Friend of CF, Tommy Birch from the Des Moines Register broke this news on Twitter Tuesday morning.
We have since confirmed the news through two independent sources here at CF.
It’s a sad end to a once promising career that was likely going to end up in the NFL. Burton simply couldn’t ever stay healthy during his time at Iowa State.
Still, it’s a hit to Matt Campbell’s first year at Iowa State. If relatively healthy at all, Burton would have been a sure-thing starter at guard next year for the Cyclones.
Birch reported that his career is coming to an end due to "health concerns."
