On Sunday and Monday, it was widely speculated and reported that Jason Candle, Matt Cambpell’s offensive coordinator at Toledo, would join his longtime friend in his new venture at Iowa State.
On Wednesday, Toledo hired Candle as the next head coach of the Rockets.
Candle had already made it to Ames, according to this report by the Toledo Blade.
That opens up a rather important position on Campbell’s staff.
On Tuesday, Iowa State announced the hiring of Tom Manning (offensive line), Alex Golesh (tight ends, recruiting coordinator), D.K. McDonald (cornerbacks) and John Kuceyeski (director of scouting), all former members of Campbell’s Toledo staff.
