ISU’s 2016 Big 12 football schedule released

 The Big 12 announced its 2016 football slate, and Iowa State will open conference play Sept. 17 at TCU.

 Baylor, Kansas State, Oklahoma, Texas Tech and West Virginia will all visit Jack Trice Stadium.

 The Nov. 3 matchup with the Sooners will be a Thursday night game.

AMES, Iowa – The Big 12 Conference announced its 2016 league football schedule Tuesday.

The conference shared that several conference games could still have date changes pending network television decisions.

The Cyclones will have seven home games in 2016, including five conference games in Jack Trice Stadium.

Iowa State will begin the season by playing host to Northern Iowa in Jack Trice Stadium on Sept. 3.

After its annual Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series game at Iowa (Sept. 10), Iowa State will play in the first Big 12 clash of the season by traveling to TCU on Sept. 17.

All games will be on a Saturday except for a Thursday night Nov. 3 contest vs. Oklahoma in Jack Trice Stadium.

Kickoff times and date of Homecoming will be announced later.
