Ames — Steve Prohm and his staff may have found their groove on the recruiting trail.
Multiple reports indicate class of 2016 power forward Solomon Young has pledged his allegiance to the Iowa State men’s basketball program. He has not yet contacted the Iowa State coaching staff.
The Sacramento Bee first reported the news.
Young is rated as a three-star prospect by Rivals and visited Ames this past weekend. He becomes the second player to commit in the past two days after Iowa Western CC point guard Donovan Jackson committed on Sunday.
The 6-foot-7, 230-pound, Sacramento native also held offers from USC, New Mexico, San Diego State and several others.
The addition is a big one for Prohm and his staff as the Cyclones’ frontcourt will be hit hard by graduation after this season.
