According to Eurohoops.net,Giorgios Tsalmpouris will not return to Iowa State for his sophomore season.
The European basketball website is reporting that the now former Cyclone will join a club called AEK BC.
Iowa State has not yet returned a request to confirm this report, however one source close to the situation told Cyclone Fanatic that he believes it to be true.
If the Euro Hoops report turns out to be factual, it would be anything but a surprise. Rumors of Tsalmpouris going pro overseas began to surface well before Fred Hoiberg left to coach the Chicago Bulls this summer.
The 7-foot-1 Greek only played in eight games as a freshman last year for the Cyclones.
