AMES — The Iowa State women’s basketball team will open the season against Hampton on Nov. 13 at Hilton Coliseum. The Cyclones will play 10 teams that appeared in last season’s NCAA Tournament with six games coming against teams that advanced to the Sweet 16.
After the season opener with Hampton, the Cyclones will head to Des Moines on Nov. 15 to take on the Drake Bulldogs and then will return home to play New Orleans on Nov. 22.
The Cyclones will then travel to Cancun over Thanksgiving break to play in the Cancun Challenge on Nov. 26-28. Iowa State will take on Texas State, Duke and Idaho during that event.
ISU will host the annual Cy-Hawk game with in-state rival Iowa on Dec. 11 and will close out the non-conference schedule with Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Alcorn State and Northern Arizona.
The team will open Big 12 play on the road in Manhattan, Kansas, against Kansas State on Dec. 30, and will host Oklahoma State on Jan. 2 in the conference home opener.
The Big 12 Championship will be held March 4-7 in Oklahoma City.
