The Cedar Rapids Gazette‘s Scott Dochterman reported Thursday that Iowa State President Steven Leath told the Iowa Board of Regents the search for the next ISU men’s basketball coach should be finished "fairly soon."

That’s Leath’s "hope" anyway — and remains in line with what we’re hearing at CycloneFanatic.com as the search for the man to succeed Fred Hoiberg continues. Leath added, according to the Gazette, that he’s working with Athletics Director Jamie Pollard to "get someone who’s the right fit for Iowa State."

Dochterman also posted the following on Twitter:

"ISU President Steven Leath says he will be involved in all interviews with basketball coaching candidates."

Dochterman also noted via Twitter that Leath said the search should be complete within "two to three weeks."

Here, again, is a link to the Gazette‘s report.
