AMES — Iowa State star forward Georges Niang scooped up two more accolades this morning.
First, the 6-8 junior from Methuen, Mass., was named a third-team All-American by the National Association of Basketball Coaches. An hour later, the Associated Press did the same, placing him on their third-team All-America team.
Niang averaged 15.3 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists this season. He was an all-Big 12 first-teamer and earned the Most Outstanding Player award at the Big 12 Tournament.
Niang is the fourth ISU player to earn All-America status under coach Fred Hoiberg.
