A Chelsea Prince layup with under two seconds to play capped off a 65-point second half for the TCU Horned Frogs (9-4, 1-1 Big 12) as they defeated the Iowa State women’s basketball team, 86-84, on Wednesday night in Forth Worth.
The Cyclones (10-3, 1-1 Big 12) had the ball out of bounds with 1.6 seconds to go, down by two points but the inbounds pass was deflected and allowed the Horned Frogs to run out the clock.
The Cyclones led 44-21 at halftime.
Iowa State was led by senior forward Brynn Williamson, who finished with 24 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Sophomore Seanna Johnson added a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds for the Cyclones.
Junior guard Kidd Blaskowsky, 16 points, senior forward Fallon Ellis, 11 points, and sophomore guard Jadda Buckley, 10 points, were the other Cyclones to score in double-figures on the night. The Horned Frogs were led by junior guard Zahna Medley with 21 points.
