AMES — Former Iowa State wide receiver P.J. Harris was arrested by Ames Police late Thursday and faces aggressive domestic assault/strangulation charges, according to online records.
Harris, 22, is being held without bond at the Story County Jail.
Iowa State athletics spokesperson Mike Green said Harris — who was injured last season — had already been dismissed from the team on Jan. 13 for violating team rules, thus no statement regarding the situation will be coming from Cyclone coach Paul Rhoads.
Harris broke his leg early last season after making nine catches for 55 yards. He caught seven passes for 67 yards as a redshirt freshman.
