To make things simple, Iowa State needs major help up front to improve its defense in 2015.
From that standpoint, the Cyclones have gotten better over the last week.
On Friday afternoon, Iowa State added another defensive tackle to its 2015 recruiting class – Bobby Leath of Coffeyville Community College in Kansas. The 6-foot-4, 290-pounder chose the Cyclones over Illinois but according to a source, had other Big Ten programs showing interest as well.
Rivals.com was first to report the story.
Leath joins Demond Tucker, the top-ranked JUCO in 2015, as Iowa State’s second defensive tackle commitment in the last week.
Unlike Tucker, Leath will be a February signee and will not be available Iowa State’s spring football season in March.
