According to Jonathan Martin of Scout.com (BlueGoldNews.com), former Iowa State commitment Xavier Pegues has flipped and will sign with West Virginia this February.

Martin tweeted the following late Wednesday night: "BREAKING: Itawamba (MS) DE Xavier Pegues ( @ImaBallll4eva ) has flipped his commitment from Iowa State to #WVU"

There have been rumblings surrounding Pegues for weeks that he was still high on the Mountaineers.

Pegues is a 6-foot-3, 270-pound defensive end out of Itawamba C.C. in Mississippi.

On Wednesday, he tweeted, "Ready to sign them papers!!"

Joining Tristan Nichelson (Texas), Pegues is the second verbal commitment that Iowa State has lost to another Big 12 school in the last week.
