Paul Rhoads’ football program just received a blow.
In news that was first reported by Tommy Birch of the Des Moines Register, starting right tackle Jacob Gannon has left the program, according to a team representative. According to the report, Gannon, a fifth-year senior, has left the team for "personal reasons."
Gannon has 13 career starts to his name.
His backup is none other than Jake Campos, Iowa State’s headline member of the 2013 recruiting class. Campos, a 6-foot-8, 291-pound redshirt freshman, hails from West Des Moines and is expected to start the first game of his career on Saturday at 11 a.m. vs. Kansas State.
