Iowa State releases non-conference hoops schedule for 2014-15

Iowa State’s non-conference basketball for the 2014-15 season is a mystery no longer. The school released the early season slate of games on Wednesday morning and if you are a regular reader of CycloneFanatic.com, there were no surprises.

The slate is headlined by a trip to the CBE Hall of Fame Classic in Kansas City that will be held the Monday and Tuesday of Thanksgiving. Iowa State’s schedule for that event is listed as TBA, but it is already known that Alabama, Arizona State and Maryland are the other three teams that will be playing in Kansas City’s Sprint Center. Per a source, Iowa State should know its first opponent in the next few weeks.

Of course, the Cyclones will host Arkansas on Dec. 4 in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge.

The Razorbacks aren’t the only SEC foe that Iowa State will tussle with next season. Iowa State will head east to tip off the new year on Jan. 3 for a neutral court game (in the Barclays Center) vs. South Carolina and notably, former Kansas State head coach Frank Martin.
