More nuggets from the preseason college football magazines that hit newstands this week…

Athlon placed four Cyclones on its preseason All-Big 12 teams.

As was expected, senior tight end E.J. Bibbs landed on the first-team.

Iowa State’s offense features three other Cyclones on the second-team though. Those men are Aaron Wimberly (running back), Quenton Bundrage (wide receiver) and Tom Farniok (center).

Quick editorial: As I wrote earlier in the week when Lindy’s placed Wimberly on its second-team, that would be a GREAT sign for Iowa State if it ends up happening. But considering Wimberly’s durability issues in 2013, I’d be surprised if he gets enough carries to rack up enough stats to warrant such an honor at the end of the season.

As it was noted earlier in the week, Athlon ranked Iowa State 66th overall and 8th in the Big 12. Athlon’s projected record for the Cyclones is 4-8 (2-7).
