AMES, Iowa – Iowa State’s Georges Niang has been invited to participate in the prestigious Nike Elite Youth Basketball Big Man Skills Academy in Union, N.J., June 23-25.
The junior-to-be was invited to the camp after a sophomore season in which he earned All-Big 12 Third-Team honors. Niang is Iowa State’s top returning scorer after averaging 16.7 points per game last season. The Methuen, Mass., native also averaged 4.5 rebounds and 3.6 assists, making him the only non-guard to rank in the top-10 of the Big 12 in assists per game.
Invitations are extended to the top-10 college big men and top-10 to 25 high school big men.
“It’s an honor to be looked at as one of the top big men in the country,” Niang said. “I plan on taking full advantage of this opportunity to keep working on my game and become the best I can.”
