Cardiac Clones survive in KC!

Kansas City, Mo. — Without the services of DeAndre Kane for the final four minutes of what was a bruiser of a basketball game, Iowa State somehow found a way to win its quarterfinal game in the Big 12 Tournament over Kansas State by an 91-85.

Junior Dustin Hogue played the unlikely role of hero by scoring 19 points with 10 rebounds in the win. Melvin Ejim had a double-double of his own with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Once again, Georges Niang was clutch down the stretch. The sophomore had 18 and seven for the Cyclones.

Up next for Iowa State is a semi-final game against either Kansas or Oklahoma State. The Jayhawks and the Cowboys are currently playing in the Sprint Center. Tomorrow night’s semi-final will tip off at 6 p.m. and will be televised on ESPNU.

Check out CycloneFanatic.com later today for complete locker room coverage, along with commentary on the big win.
