Taylor, a 6-foot-2, 250-pound defensive lineman, originally hails from Lakeland, Fla. As a four-star prospect, Taylor originally with Tennessee out of high school and competed in one game for the Volunteers in 2012. Taylor played the 2013 season for Butler C.C. in Kansas, where he was a teammate to Gabe Luna, who also signed with Iowa State’s 2014 class.

Taylor recorded 32 tackles, 3.0 sacks and 10.0 tackles for a loss in 10 games last year and was an honorable mention All-Jayhawk Conference selection.

Rivals.com ranked Taylor as the 19-th best defensive end in the class of 2011.

It is also notable that Taylor was a former high school teammate to current Iowa State running back Tyler Brown
