The “Phog” & KU too much for Iowa State

LAWRENCE, Kan — Iowa State’s trip to Allen Fieldhouse on Wednesday night was one giant uphill climb. The Cyclones were slow out of the gate in both halves, only to mount fierce comebacks and eventually fall short in the end.

Kansas improved to 16-4 (7-0) while Iowa State dropped to 15-4 (3-4) via a 92-81 Jayhawk victory.

Georges Niang led the way for Iowa State with 24 points. DeAndre Kane and Melvin Ejim chipped in with 22 and 18.

For Kansas, it was superstar freshman Andrew Wiggins whole ultimately did the Cyclones in. The possible first pick in this summer’s NBA Draft went 10-of-16 from the floor and led all scorers with a career-high 29.

Check out CycloneFanatic.com later on tonight and tomorrow morning for completely coverage of the game.
