According to the rumors website FootballScoop.com, Bill Bleil is in line to be the next offensive coordinator at Rhode Island.
Bleil has been on Paul Rhoads’ staff for all five seasons at Iowa State. In addition to being Iowa State’s assistant head coach, Bleil was the offensive line coach for the first four seasons and spent 2013 working with the tight ends.
It is important to note that Iowa State has yet to confirm that Bleil will not be a part of Rhoads’ staff in 2014, although this news comes as anything but a surprise. Numerous sources have told CycloneFanatic.com over the last month that Bleil would not be around for a sixth season in Ames.
Should the Footbal Scoop report turn out to be true, that would mean that Rhoads now has three open spots on his coaching staff to fill (offensive coordinator/quarterback’s, running backs and tight ends).
