IRVING, Texas – Iowa State women’s basketball freshman Jadda Buckley was named Phillips 66 Big 12 Freshman of the Week for the for the first time this season, the league announced Monday.
Buckley had a tremendous outing in Iowa State’s 83-70 victory over in-state rival Iowa. Against the 21st-ranked Hawkeyes, the freshman scored a career-high 19 points. Buckley also notched three assists in ISU’s first win over a ranked opponent this season.
The Mason City, Iowa native, picked up most of her points at the free-throw line, knocking down 14-of-16 free shots. The freshman also netted five points from the field for a career-high 19.

The Cyclones have captured three of the six Big 12 Freshman of the Week honors so far this season.
Buckley and the No. 15 Iowa State Cyclones return to the court on Saturday, Dec. 28 at 3:30 p.m. to take on Holy Cross at Hilton Coliseum in the annual Cyclone Challenge.
