After one of the most tumultuous rookie seasons in NBA history, former Iowa State Cyclone Royce White has been traded from Houston to the Philadelphia 76ers.

Yahoo was first to report the trade.

According to the report, the 76ers traded "future draft considerations" to acquire White.

Houston also announced the signing of NBA star Dwight Howard on Friday evening as well.

So why would the 76ers trade for White, who made all sorts of noise but never actually played a game during his rookie year?

Well Houston’s former assistant general manager, Sam Hinkie, was recently brought on as Philadelphia’s general manager so he knows White well. One can only assume that connection had a lot to do with it.
