After days of speculation and multiple Internet reports, it now seems official that Dallas Jesuit "athlete" Orion Salters has verbally committed to Iowa State. That’s what a source told Cyclone Fanatic on Tuesday evening at least.
Salters, who Rivals.com lists at 5-foot-10,165-pounds, played high school ball with current Iowa State defensive end J.D. Waggoner, who signed with the Cyclones in February.
Salters is listed as an "athlete," but we’re already hearing that the plan is for him to at least begin at wide receiver in Ames.
Salters is the eighth known commitment to Iowa State at this time.
