Iowa State – Texas moved to Thursday, Oct. 3

The following is a press release sent out by Iowa State’s athletic communications department. 

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State’s Big 12 football opener against Texas this fall will kickoff Thursday night, Oct. 3, in Jack Trice Stadium before a national TV audience. 

The match-up between the Cyclones and Longhorns was initially listed as Oct. 3 or Oct. 5.

The conference also announced that three other league games will be played on Thursday nights including TCU at Texas Tech (Sept. 12), Oklahoma at Baylor (Nov. 7) and Texas Tech at Texas (Nov. 28).

Networks carrying the games and kickoff times will be announced at a later date.
