Q&A: Nick Noskowiak speaks to the media on unofficial

AMES — The Iowa State men’s basketball program is hosting three basketball visitors for Saturday night’s Big 12 showdown with Baylor. One of the three is Nick Noskowiak, a 6-foot-2, 170-pound point guard out of Sun Prairie, Wisc.

Noskowiak currently holds an Iowa State offer and he spoke to reporters on Saturday evening. Here’s a transcript of the question and answer session.

Q: How has your experience been so far in Ames?

NN: So far I love it. We toured the practice facility. I went to the academic facility. I love it so far.

Q: What are you looking for tonight here in Hilton?

NN: I am excited to see the atmosphere here. It’s a huge arena. The atmosphere looks like it should be pretty good.

Q: Is this your first game in Ames?

NN: Yes.

Q: What other schools are high on your list?

NN: I currently have offers from Northern Iowa, Iowa State and Milwaukee-Green Bay. Other schools looking at me are Wisconsin, Marquette and Minnesota.

Q: What kind of style do you like to play?

NN: I just play up-tempo. I like the way that Iowa State plays. Shoot a lot of threes. Play up-tempo.

Q: Do you have any relationship with Coach Hoiberg or T.J. Otzelberger?

NN: Yeah I have a pretty good relationship with Coach Otz and Coach Hoiberg. I’ve been talking to them over the last couple of months in the fall after they offered me. Maintaining phone conversations with them and this is my second visit so we have a pretty good relationship.

Q: What about Matt Thomas (another Wisconsin guy – 2013 Iowa State signee). Do you know him very well?

NN: Yeah I know him pretty well. We’ve been texting back and forth to see when we were both coming down and visiting. Just trying to get to the same games so we can talk a little bit.

Q: Is he recruiting you?

NN: You can say that I guess. Yeah.

Q: Do you have any kind of timeline when you want to get all of this done?

NN: I don’t. When I feel like the time is right I will make my decision.
