AMES — On football’s National Signing Day, Iowa State basketball coach Fred Hoiberg added a member to his 2013 recruiting class.
K.J. Bluford, a 6-foot-2 shooting guard out of Northeast Nebraska C.C., told Cyclone Fanatic his news earlier today. Bluford visited Iowa State this past Monday night to watch the Cyclones defeat Oklahoma.
"I really liked the fans. They really supported the team," said Bluford. "I really like Coach Hoiberg’s philosophy."
That philosophy is to shoot, shoot and keep shooting – something that Bluford understands. Through 24 games this season, Bluford leads his team in scoring at 18 points per game. He’s a 38.5 percent 3-point shooter at 94-for-244 on the year.
"When I was watching, I really liked it because it was like what I do every game," said Bluford. "That’s how I play – running up and down and shooting."
Cyclone Fanatic will have more on this story Thursday so stay tuned.
