No. 25 Iowa State Falls at No. 1 Baylor

WACO, Texas – Brittney Griner scored 23 points and No. 1 Baylor (13-1 overall, 3-0 Big 12) forced 25 Iowa State (11-2 overall, 2-1 Big 12) turnovers as the Bears beat the No. 25 Cyclones 67-39 for Baylor’s 48th straight win in the Ferrell Center Wednesday. Nikki Moody led Iowa State with 11 points. The Cyclones will play host to TCU Saturday at 6 p.m. CST on Cyclones.tv in Hilton Coliseum.

The Iowa Staters trailed 24-8 after the game’s first seven minutes but fought back to trail 30-19 after a three-point field-goal from Kidd Blaskowsky with 2:13 remaining. Baylor led 35-19 at the half.

The Cyclones cut the Bears’ advantage after a Moody three-pointer to 35-22 just seconds into the second half. A Blaskowsky bucket made it 42-27 with 17:51 remaining. Baylor then went on to score 17 straight points for a 59-27 lead with 9:34 left. When Brynn Williamson hit for a trey with 8:04 left, it ended an 11-minute Cyclone drought without a field goal. Iowa State made 9-of-25 three-point attempts with three each by Moody and Williamson.
