Florida linebacker Alton Meeks commits to Iowa State

As we near the month of December, Iowa State’s football recruiting has picked up its pace significantly.

After landing Iowa Western Community College defensive end Rodney Coe on Sunday, the Cyclones snagged another highly-touted defensive player on Wednesday in Alton Meeks, a linebacker out of Orlando, (Fla.) Dr. Phillips.

Meeks, who previously committed to Cincinatti as a quarterback, will likely come to Iowa State as a linebacker. Meeks missed a good portion of his senior season due to a broken leg.

According to his profile at Rivals.com, Meeks chose Iowa State over offers from: Cincinnati, Michigan State, Arizona State, Connecticut, Duke, Florida State, Illinois, Minnesota, N.C. State, Pittsburgh, South Florida and Wake Forest to name a few.
