Tuesday was a newsworthy evening. 

Iowa State held its annual “Meet the Coaches Night” at the Seven Flags Events Center in Des Moines . During the program where approximatley 1,000 Cyclone fans gathered, two newsworthy items were announced and later confirmed on Iowa State’s official athletic department Twitter site @CycloneATH. 

Iowa State’s new President, Dr. Steven Leath announced that Athletics Director Jamie Pollard had recently signed a five-year contract extension.

Additonally, the football program has sold a record of over 38,000 season tickets for 2012. The previous record was of 37,859.
