Whomever Iowa State’s quarterback of the future should be a happy camper today.
That’s because according to sources, Daniel Burton, a 6-foot-4, 270-pound offensive tackle out of Putnam City North High School in Oklahoma City has committed to the Cyclone football program.
According to his profile on Rivals.com, Burton chose Iowa State over offers from Tulsa, Arizona, Oregon State, North Texas, Louisiana-Monroe and Utah State.
Burton officially visited Iowa State the weekend that the Cyclones defeated rival Iowa 44-41 in triple-overtime.
Burton is the second commitment that Iowa State has received in the past week. He joins Iowa City West athlete Charles Rogers on Iowa State’s commitment list, along with 10 other prospects. Burton is the first offensive line prospect to commit to the class.
